Dinner Treat

Similar work today; we’re at the point where we’ll slather on a bunch of drywall mud and then that project is done for the day as the mud has to dry overnight.  We are also putting shelves in a couple of closets in the N house, where Ron and Donna (the founder) are moving into.  Deb and Sharon are putting together Christmas stockings for some of the kids.

In addition to being treated for lunch, the staff here took us out to dinner to an Italian restaurant in Nampa.  This restaurant is owned and run by a couple that Donna has known for a long time and has worked with at prior ministries.  Paula, one of the owners, personally attended our table and several at the table knew her very well.  There were also two other retired SOWER couples there who live in the area and still do some volunteering at Hope House.  One of the couples told me that Hope House was their favorite project and they served here many times.

This restaurant makes everything from scratch, including the pasta, when it is ordered, so it may take a bit longer to receive the food, but the lasagna that I had was probably the best lasagna I have ever tasted.  Others had similar accolades for their entrees.

And the stories that the staff and these other SOWER couples tell about how God has provided for this ministry over the years are nothing short of amazing.

Home Again

We’re home.  We made the usual stop in Shipshewana, Indiana at Deb’s favorite grocery store, then came straight home, arriving at about 1pm....
