First Day of Work

 Yesterday didn’t really matter.

I didn’t catch much of devotions because I had to take a phone call.  When I came back, they were pretty much done.  Deb said devotions were on prayer and it was really good.  Sorry I missed it.

I headed down to the maintenance buildings while Deb stayed in the Admin building.  She and Brenda rolled silverware in napkins.  I helped refinish rocking chairs.  Since it was supposed to rain today, we did some inside work on a long-term project: refinishing all the outdoor furniture.  We did the last of the rocking chairs, about eight chairs in various stages of refinishing.  The last eight of over 100 rocking chairs that sit on the porches and patios of the training center and inns.  But we’re by no means done.  There are lots of benches, straight-back chairs, and tables in similar weathered states that need to be addressed.  When the weather cooperates, there are wooden railings by the chapel that need replacing and who knows what else.  It’s quite a crew here and the continual stream of volunteers help to make the big job of maintaining this place a little easier.

Home Again

We’re home.  We made the usual stop in Shipshewana, Indiana at Deb’s favorite grocery store, then came straight home, arriving at about 1pm....
