Beautiful sunny day today, so it was possible to do outside work. Another large project: all the decking around the chapel. The chapel itself is four levels, with outside deck on three of those levels, with lots of connecting stairways between the levels and the paths on the ground. Most of this is wood: the floor boards, the railings, the steps, the spindles, etc. Many of these are succumbing to the weather.
We spent the day removing several railing boards, replacing them with new pressure treated lumber, filling in the screw holes, and painting to match.
There’s enough here to keep us busy for the entire three weeks. Don’t know if that will happen
Deb and Bonnie spent a few hours in the chapel, greeting visitors, and praying over prayer cards when there were no visitors.
After dinner we played games for a while in the maintenance building break room with the other SOWER couples.
A thunderstorm is rolling in, which should bring cooler weather for tomorrow.
