First Day of Work

The first day of work is now over.  After devotions we all went to the Lakehouse, a building containing several suites used to house young moms and their babies.  Several rooms in this house are in need of a refresh, including the kitchen and the laundry room.  The building is empty right now, so no worries about disturbing any sleeping children.

The women started in the kitchen, taping off and starting to apply primer, and the men attacked the laundry room, first removing all the old cabinets, then fixing up all the holes in the drywall in preparation for a fresh coat of paint.

When all the holes in the drywall were filled with mud, I installed a new dishwasher in the kitchen and the other two guys installed a new bathroom fan in one of the showers.

And that’s what we did for the day.  The guys will continue in the kitchen and laundry rooms tomorrow and the women will help out in the thrift store.

Home Again

We’re home.  We made the usual stop in Shipshewana, Indiana at Deb’s favorite grocery store, then came straight home, arriving at about 1pm....
